Boulder is known for having a plethora of high quality rock climbing. It is home to the scenic Flatirons, the beautiful sandstone walls of Eldorado Canyon and the granite domes of Boulder Canyon. Also, Boulder is conveniently located only one hour from Denver International Airport (DIA).
Eldorado Canyon State Park is at 5,430′ above sea level and is located 7 miles southwest of Boulder. “Eldo” is renowned for its rock climbing routes of all grades and lengths on the colorful sandstone walls. The canyon first became popular in the early 70’s and today one can view climbers high up on the walls year round. There are routes for all ability; whether doing single pitch, multi-pitch or a day of top-roping there is something for everyone…
We recommend spending at least a few days in the area, as there are hundreds of high quality routes! It is also nice to mixed up your trip with climbing in the Flatirons and Boulder Canyon as getting a little from each places provides a full breadth of what climbing in Boulder is all about!
