Ski and Snowboard

Backcountry (off-piste) skiing and snowboarding is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable means of travel in the mountains. With AMA there are three ways to access backcountry terrain; ski lifts, helicopters, and good old skis and skins.

AMA offers ski and snowboard tours in Colorado, Europe, and Alaska. If you are new to ski touring we recommend learning the basics on a Colorado hut trip or a day outing in Rocky Mountain National Park. Those with some experience we suggest the famous Haute Route (Chamonix to Zermatt) or the beautiful Berner Oberland in Switzerland. For those who want steep ski mountaineering we recommend our heli assisted ski tours around the Chugach in Alaska or doing a steep ski week in La Grave, France.
