Alpine
Alpine climbing is everything climbing has to offering in a single package. In general, alpine climbing means all types
of climbing above tree line: rock, ice, snow, and mixed. A Great alpine objective usually involves a little from
each discipline testing one's ability to move fluidly from one medium into another.
Colorado’s Rocky Mountain Naitonal
Park is one of the best venues in the States for alpine climbing. It provides several classic alpine routes,
many well suited for all abilities.
Other great alpine locations are the world famous European Alps for summer climbing, the stunning New Zealand Alps for
our winter (their summer), and the Himalayas in fall for an awe inspiring ascent of Ama Dablam.
